Laochra Beaga

Laochra Beaga, founded in 2021, provides a full‑day childcare setting for children aged from 2 years 8 months up to 6 years. The centre aims to create a “home from home” atmosphere where children feel safe, relaxed and nurtured while they learn and develop. Emphasising a balanced approach to early education, Laochra Beaga focuses on building foundational skills in literacy, numeracy and the Irish language through play‑based activities and structured learning experiences. The facility is dedicated to preparing children for a smooth transition into primary school, offering a curriculum‑based programme that supports both social and academic progress. Healthy meals are provided, and a free preschool programme is available to support early learning. All staff members hold at least a Level 5 childcare qualification, are fully Garda vetted, and engage in ongoing professional development to ensure high‑quality care and education. Laochra Beaga’s ethos centres on delivering top‑quality early learning experiences, recognising that exposure to a robust early childhood curriculum can significantly accelerate children’s future academic and social development. The centre’s commitment to continuous improvement and a supportive environment underpins its goal of giving every child the best possible start to their educational journey.
