About
Rural countryside at the foot of Slievenamon, in the parish of Mullinahone, Co. Tipperary, is the setting for Scoil Mhuire, sometimes given as Scoil Mhuire Kilvemnon. The school is co-educational and mainstream, with 32 pupils, and is a Catholic school under the patronage of the Bishop of Cashel and Emly. Classes are arranged in two mainstream rooms, junior and senior, and the staffing includes a full-time special education teacher, a special needs assistant and a secretary. Pupils take part in Creative Schools, through which a drumming workshop was held at the school. Senior pupils spent months rehearsing songs and medleys before performing at the Peace Proms concert in the SETU Arena in Waterford, and children from the school also attended a pantomime at that venue. Its 60th year in existence was marked by an anniversary celebration.
