Our Lady’s School is a Catholic girls’ secondary school situated on Templeogue Road in Terenure, Dublin 6W, adjacent to Bushy Park. The school delivers a holistic education rooted in Christian values, aiming to nurture academic excellence, spiritual growth, physical health and emotional wellbeing. Its curriculum follows the Junior Cycle, Senior Cycle, Transition Year and Leaving Certificate Applied programmes, complemented by a broad co‑curricular offering that includes athletics, badminton, basketball, camogie, hockey, Gaelic football, tennis, swimming, choir, Model United Nations, Lego Club and more. The campus features a state‑of‑the‑art Olympic‑sized air dome housing indoor basketball, badminton, pickleball courts and an Astro‑turf football pitch, providing year‑round sporting opportunities. A distinctive house system comprising five houses – St Bridget’s, St Colmcille’s, St Laurence’s, St Muireann’s and St Patrick’s – fosters community and cross‑year friendships. The school is also supported by the Le Chéile Trust Education Centre on site, reinforcing its commitment to student wellbeing and pastoral care.

History

Our Lady’s School was founded in 1953 by the Religious of Christian Education, a congregation originally established in 1817 by Abbé LaFosse in France. The founding Sisters set out to provide young women with a holistic, faith‑based education, a mission that continues to guide the school’s ethos and programmes today.
