About

St Patrick’s Junior and Senior National Schools, situated in Drangan, County Tipperary, provide co‑educational primary education from junior infants through to sixth class. The Junior School welcomes children from junior infants to second class, while the Senior School accommodates pupils from third to sixth class. Both schools operate under the auspices of the Diocese of Cashel and Emly and are firmly rooted in a Catholic ethos that prioritises the spiritual, moral and social development of each child. The curriculum is delivered with an emphasis on fostering happiness, self‑esteem and a love of learning, encouraging pupils, parents and staff to work collaboratively towards shared goals. A distinctive feature of the school community is its commitment to physical wellbeing and active lifestyles. Through participation in the Department of Education and Skills’ Active School Flag programme, the schools aim to create a physically educated and active environment, supported by Healthy Ireland initiatives. Regular sport sessions, dedicated physical‑education provision and a range of extracurricular activities further reinforce this focus. In addition, the school promotes a safe and inclusive atmosphere through the Amber Flag programme, which addresses anti‑bullying and mental‑health awareness, ensuring that every pupil feels protected and valued.
