History
Gaelscoil de hÍde was founded in 1984 with 16 pupils. It started in the Old Adair School on Oliver Plunkett Hill. By 1987 the school needed extra space and moved to the Old Vocational School in December of that year. In 2007 it became evident that demand for places would mean extra accommodation was needed. After a campaign, the school got a new building. On 17th February 2017 the school marched from the old premises to the new Scoil Nua. The board of management and parent support group, Cáirde de hÍde, invested over €100,000 in the new school for technology and the all-weather pitch.
