About

Fermoy Adair National School is a co-educational primary school on Greenhill in Fermoy, Co. Cork, under Church of Ireland patronage. Children from all faiths and none are admitted. Classes run from junior infants to sixth class. The school employs 2 mainstream teachers plus a learning support or resource teacher, with specialist tuition available from time to time in French, G.A.A., hockey, gymnastics, drama, music and art. Heritage in School experts visit regularly to support history, geography and science. The school describes itself as reputedly the oldest primary school in Ireland still in operation, now housed in a modern building on a site overlooking the town. A mission statement written by pupils sets out the aim of an inclusive school where different cultures and beliefs are celebrated, learning in different ways is encouraged, and the health of body and mind is promoted alongside respect between students and teachers.
