About

Cappawhite National School is a Catholic‑ethos primary school situated in the village of Cappawhite, County Tipperary. It provides education for both boys and girls from Junior Infants through to 6th Class, operating five mainstream classrooms that cover the full primary curriculum. In addition to the mainstream provision, the school runs two specialised Sonas classes (Sonas 1 and Sonas 2) designed to support pupils on the Autism Spectrum, and it maintains two dedicated special‑education rooms to further enhance inclusive learning. The school is under the patronage of the Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly and is managed by a School Board of Management in partnership with parents and the local community. Its educational philosophy centres on the holistic development of each child, nurturing spiritual, emotional, physical and intellectual potential. Emphasis is placed on excellence in communication, literacy, numeracy and essential life‑skills, while also fostering a broad awareness of the wider world and a love for the environment. Extra‑curricular initiatives such as Active Schools, Green Schools, Creative Schools, a Buddy Bench, and a vibrant school choir contribute to a well‑rounded experience for pupils.
