About

A rural co-educational primary school in Co. Cork, Banteer National School has 190 pupils and a Catholic ethos. The patron is the Bishop of Cloyne. Scoil Náisiúnta Bántír is the Irish form of the name, and the school takes 'Is Aoibhinn Beatha an Scoláire' as its motto. Values it names include kindness, respect, compassion and forgiveness, and it sets out its aim as supporting each pupil's academic, social, emotional and spiritual development within a Catholic framework. Involvement by parents and support from the surrounding area are described as significant parts of school life, and the school presents its rural setting and its links with local families as central to how it works. Connectivity was upgraded to high speed broadband through the Department of Education School Broadband Programme, part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan funded by the European Union.
