Teach Spraoi Community Preschool

Teach Spraoi Community Preschool is a nature‑focused kindergarten situated on the edge of the wild Atlantic Way and the renowned Burren region. Set across more than two acres of natural woodland, the centre offers children a unique outdoor learning environment where they can explore woodlands, observe wildlife such as rabbits, hares, foxes and red squirrels, and engage with a large sensory dome that retains heat year‑round. The philosophy centres on treating children as active learners, giving them choice and a role in their own education while fostering confidence, social skills and a love of the natural world. The service operates a “key carer” model, ensuring each child has one main caregiver who works closely with families to monitor progress through observations and assessments. The curriculum blends outdoor play, numeracy and literacy activities inspired by nature, and structured social development sessions. By encouraging children to listen, observe, ask questions and build friendships, Teach Spraoi aims to nurture lifelong learners who feel rooted in their community and beyond.
