About
Located on the Old Finglas Road in Glasnevin, Dublin 11, St. Brigid's N.S. is a Catholic primary school for girls, with an enrolment of 406. Classes run from Junior Infants to 6th class. The school follows an Education in Human Values programme, which sets a value for each month, such as Truth, Love, Peace, Right Action and Non-Violence, broken into weekly sub-values and paired with assembly songs. That programme is also offered as training to teachers and principals from other schools. The school motto is Le Chéile Faoi Bhrat Bhríde, together under the protection of St Brigid, which it links to its Holy Faith tradition. Religious education uses the Grow in Love programme. Pupils elect a student council and a Green Schools committee. Clubs cover art, French, books, hockey, multi-sport, creative keyboards and homework, and a morning club operates from 8am before classes begin. There is a school garden, and a parents' association organises events and fundraising.
