About
Carrigabruise National School is a rural primary school situated just off the N3, approximately three miles from Virginia. The school provides a caring, inclusive learning environment where pupils’ happiness and all‑round development are placed at the forefront of everyday practice. Its educational ethos is built around a vision of partnership between children, families and the wider community, ensuring that every child is supported to reach their full academic, intellectual, moral, spiritual, social, cultural and physical potential. The school’s facilities have been progressively enhanced to support a broad curriculum. The original building, opened in 1963, was expanded in 2013 to provide modern classrooms and specialised learning spaces. A standout feature is the Astro‑turf pitch, officially opened by the then President of the GAA, Aogán Ó Féarghaíl, in October 2015, which underpins the school’s commitment to physical education and community sport. Together with a focus on personal responsibility and staff development, these resources create a vibrant, people‑friendly atmosphere that encourages both pupil and staff wellbeing.
