About

On Barnwell Road in Hansfield, Dublin 15, Hansfield Educate Together National School is a multi-denominational, co-educational primary school with roughly 576 pupils. Classes run from junior infants to sixth class, and the school also operates a special class for autistic pupils, with its own admission process. Science, technology, engineering and maths have a defined place in school life through a STEAM Academy, alongside marked STEM activities that have included coding, experiments and class challenges, and visits by senior pupils to technology employers. Junior after-school clubs run for pupils from first to third class and senior clubs for fourth to sixth. A parent-teacher association, to which all parents and guardians belong automatically, elects its committee each September and organises events through the year, among them Halloweek, movie nights, an international food day and coffee mornings. Pupil involvement runs through a school council, a green schools committee and an active school committee. Cycling to school is encouraged, and the school has a mascot that features in its communications with families.
