About

Gaelscoil Uí Choimín is an all-Irish primary school in Kilrush, Co. Clare, operating under the patronage of An Foras Pátrúnachta. Irish is the language of the school, and children take part in all school activities through Irish. The school has four classroom teachers and a learning support teacher. Pupils are grouped in multi-class bands: Naíonáin Bheaga and Naíonáin Mhóra, Rang 1 to Rang 3, and Rang 4 to Rang 6. The school received a grant in 2021 to address the digital divide for learners at risk of educational disadvantage, as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU. The funding was used to provide laptops, iPads and a recharging box, to fund a remote learning platform and to contribute to the installation of an interactive screen. The school also has high speed broadband connectivity through the Department of Education School Broadband Programme. A Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) service promotes partnership between school and home.
