About

Gaelscoil Lir is a co‑educational, multi‑denominational Irish‑medium primary school that opened its doors in September 2021 to serve the expanding communities of Citywest, Saggart and Newcastle. Operating under the patronage of An Foras Pátrúnachta, the school provides an inclusive environment where every pupil is welcomed and treated equally. The curriculum is delivered through Irish, fostering a deep appreciation for the language and Gaelic culture while promoting academic excellence. Emphasis is placed on the happiness, safety and well‑being of children, with a learning ethos that is supportive, positive and fun, encouraging pupils to reach their full potential and develop a lifelong love of learning. The school community is preparing to relocate in Spring 2026 to a brand‑new, purpose‑built permanent building. This modern facility will offer state‑of‑the‑art classrooms, specialised learning spaces and high‑quality resources designed to enhance teaching and support the holistic development of each child. The new premises will further strengthen Gaelscoil Lir’s commitment to providing a vibrant, safe and stimulating environment for its growing student body.
