About

Deravoy National School is a co‑educational primary school situated in the heart of Carrickroe, County Monaghan. The school prides itself on providing a caring and happy atmosphere underpinned by a strong Catholic ethos, which promotes respect for self and others while encouraging each child to reach their full potential. A dedicated teaching team delivers a high standard of education across the core curriculum – literacy, numeracy, Gaeilge, religion, technology, music and physical education – and fosters a love of exploration, discovery and enjoyment in learning. The school benefits from a vibrant community partnership, linking home, parish and local organisations to enrich pupil experiences. A wide range of extracurricular committees and teams, including Green Schools, Active Schools, Science & Technology, Coiste Gaelbhratach, Health Promotion, debating, and both boys’ and girls’ football, provide pupils with opportunities to develop skills beyond the classroom. These initiatives, together with a focus on nurturing the Irish language, create a well‑rounded environment that supports academic achievement and personal growth.
