About

Clondrinagh National School is a small rural primary school situated in the parish of Lissycasey/Ballynacally, County Clare, approximately 20 km from Ennis. With an enrolment of just 17 pupils, the school is able to offer highly personalised learning, ensuring each child receives individual attention throughout the day. The school operates from 9:00 am to 2:50 pm, with a structured timetable that includes a morning break at 11:00 am and a lunch period from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm. An after‑school club is available for infants until the end of the school day. The curriculum embraces a broad range of subjects, from core languages (English, Gaeilge, Français) and mathematics to the sciences, history, geography, and a full arts programme that includes music, visual arts, drama and physical education. ICT is a cornerstone of the school’s approach; every classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard, each pupil is provided with a tablet computer, and the school has earned the Digital School of Distinction award for exemplary use of technology in teaching and learning. Environmental stewardship is also a key focus. Since 2011 the school has participated in the Green‑Schools Ireland programme, achieving four Green Flags for litter and waste, energy, water and travel & transport, and is currently working towards a flag for biodiversity. Regular music concerts, school tours and participation in local sports leagues further enrich the pupils’ educational experience.
