About

Ballylooby National School is a rural, Roman‑Catholic mainstream primary school located in the picturesque village of Ballylooby, County Tipperary, nestled between the Knockmealdown and Galtee mountains. It caters for boys and girls aged 4‑13 years and aims to promote the full development of each pupil as an individual and as a member of the school community. The school’s mission and vision stress respect, kindness, a safe and welcoming environment, and strong partnership between pupils, staff and parents. A commitment to Catholic education is evident through the provision of religious instruction in line with the doctrines and traditions of the Church, while diversity of culture and belief is respected and welcomed. The learning environment combines modern technology with extensive outdoor facilities. Classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and iPads to support interactive and digital learning. The grounds feature a flower and shrubbery garden, a vegetable garden, an astro‑turf area, two tarmac courts, a full‑size pitch with goal posts, and a dedicated infants’ playground with slides. The school participates in the Green School initiative, encouraging environmental care and recycling. With a staff of nine teachers, a special needs assistant, a learning support team and ancillary personnel, the school provides a supportive, well‑resourced setting for over 170 pupils.
