About

Young Explorers' Preschool and Afterschool operates from Dominic's Community Centre at Avonbeg Gardens in Tallaght, Dublin 24. This not-for-profit service provides an Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) scheme on a sessional basis for children aged 2 to 6 years, with both morning and afternoon sessions. Learning follows an emergent, play-based curriculum. The preschool has three classrooms and two large outdoor play areas. A school-aged afterschool service runs in the afternoons. The centre was built in 2008 and 2009 as part of the Avonbeg Phase IV housing scheme and is managed by a voluntary committee with representatives from the local community and support agencies.
