Little VIP's Pre-school

Little VIPs Preschool is situated in Breaffy, Castlebar and provides a welcoming early years environment for children in the local community. The centre follows a holistic, emergent and inquiry‑based curriculum that blends play‑based learning with focused development of social‑emotional skills, literacy and numeracy. By treating play as the primary medium for exploration, children are encouraged to develop curiosity, confidence and a positive attitude towards learning while building foundational language and mathematical concepts. Each child receives a personalised Learning Portfolio that records their unique progress and achievements, creating a treasured record of their early education journey. The preschool also offers structured support for the transition to primary school, preparing children for the change in setting through targeted activities and guidance. An ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) age calculator is available to help parents determine eligibility for national early years programmes. The overall approach prioritises nurturing positive learning dispositions, values and a deep understanding of the world around them.
