Kildare Steiner School

Kildare Steiner School provides a Waldorf‑based early years and primary education programme in a nurturing, nature‑rich setting. The Kindergarten caters for children aged three to six years, offering a warm “home away from home” atmosphere centred on a play‑based curriculum and a consistent daily and weekly rhythm. Emphasis is placed on the physical, emotional and academic development of each child, with regular outdoor activities in the school’s forest, garden and mud play areas. The Primary department serves pupils aged six to twelve years, delivering a curriculum that aligns with national standards while remaining true to Steiner pedagogy. Children learn through hands‑on experiences with wood, clay and natural materials, fostering creativity, critical thinking and 21st‑century skills. A strong partnership with parents is encouraged through a parent‑and‑toddler group that eases the transition into kindergarten and promotes community involvement. Overall, the school’s holistic approach seeks to educate the whole child, head, heart and hands, by integrating academic learning with artistic, practical and environmental experiences, ensuring each child’s individuality is respected and nurtured.
