About

St Peter's National School is a Church of Ireland primary school in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, with about 97 pupils. Teaching is arranged in four multi-grade rooms: Junior and Senior Infants, 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and 5th and 6th. The school day begins at 08:20. A weekly assembly brings all classes together, with class performances, singing, hymns and stars of the week certificates, and the local rector takes part in assemblies on biblical themes. Anti-bullying work uses the KiVa programme. Pupils hold the Active School Flag, Green Flag, Blue Flag and Amber Flag, and the school has taken part in the Primary Science Award and Music Generation. A therapy dog in training attends the school through the charity My Canine Companion. Afterschool activities include art clubs, guitar, choir, soccer, drama, homework club and Playball, and the choir sings at Peace Proms and carol concerts. Maths Week, Book Week, Engineers Week and Seachtain na Gaeilge are marked across the classes, and there is a school garden. Hot school meals are provided.
