About

St. Clare’s Primary School is a co‑educational Catholic primary school situated in the rural town of Manorhamilton, north County Leitrim. Under the patronage of the Bishop of Kilmore, the school provides a caring, happy and secure environment that seeks to meet the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral, social and cultural needs of every pupil. The community is notably multicultural, with children from a wide range of countries, including Botswana, Canada, Pakistan, the Philippines and the United Kingdom, contributing to a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere where each child’s individuality is celebrated. The school adopts a balanced educational approach that combines modern, innovative teaching methods with traditional values such as honesty, respect and loyalty. Small class sizes ensure that each pupil receives personalised attention and is never “lost in the crowd”. A strong emphasis is placed on extra‑curricular provision, particularly Gaelic games and other sports, to support holistic development. Recent investment in high‑speed broadband through the Department of Education’s School Broadband Programme enhances digital learning opportunities. Well‑maintained school grounds, a safe car‑park walkway and a structured daily routine, including a morning assembly, contribute to a supportive and organised learning environment.
