About

St Anne's is a senior girls' primary school in Charleville, County Cork, with a student population in excess of 190 pupils. The school has DEIS status and is funded by the Department of Education, governed by a board of management. Its motto is "Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí". The school received a grant in 2021 under the NextGenerationEU fund to address the digital divide, and has since added interactive smart boards, Chromebooks, iPads and laptops to its ICT equipment across several years. In 2013 the school introduced the Accelerated Reader programme, which assesses children's reading and comprehension and records books read. A home school community liaison was appointed in June 2022, shared between St Anne's and CBS. Art and yoga classes for parents run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Recent building work includes a new principal's office, three rooms for special education needs teaching, re-configured classrooms and additional toilets. A school extension has been completed, adding three new SEN classrooms. The school's heating system was overhauled in 2017, a new playground surface was installed in 2018, and attic insulation was added in 2019.
