About
Scoil Phádraig is a co‑educational Catholic primary school situated in the heart of the Corduff community. The school provides a child‑centred, inclusive learning environment that nurtures the intellectual, spiritual, physical, cultural and social development of each pupil. Its ethos is rooted in the Catholic tradition while welcoming children of all backgrounds, religions and abilities, and it places a strong emphasis on partnership with parents as the primary educators of their children. The campus combines modern and well‑maintained facilities. Original classrooms have been expanded with a purpose room, a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) teaching space, a SET (Science, Engineering and Technology) room and a new front entrance added in 2020. Outdoor provisions include an all‑weather playing surface and a contemporary playground that serve the whole school community. With a teaching staff that includes specialist SEN teachers and assistants, the school integrates children with special needs into mainstream classes, ensuring a supportive and collaborative atmosphere for learning. The school operates from 9:20 am, with classes 1st to 6th finishing at 3 pm and infant classes at 2 pm. Its mission statement highlights a safe, happy environment where pupils are encouraged to develop their individual talents, respect one another and grow into caring, independent members of society.
History
Scoil Phádraig opened its doors in 1986, replacing the former Sreenty National School and Corduff National School. The original building comprised four classrooms, a purpose room and ancillary accommodation, and has since been maintained and refurbished with new PVC windows and a roof. In September 2013 the school was extended to add an extra classroom and dedicated SEN teaching accommodation. A further upgrade in 2016 introduced an all‑weather outdoor playing facility, and in 2020 the school received a new front entrance, a SET room and an additional classroom, together with a modern outdoor playground for the whole community.
