About

Scoil na gCeithre Máistrí is a co‑educational, all‑Irish, Catholic primary school situated in Athlone and patronised by the Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise. The school’s vision is to provide a stimulating, welcoming and cooperative learning environment that nurtures the physical, intellectual, spiritual, emotional, social, cultural and moral development of every child. Teaching is delivered through full Irish‑language immersion, allowing pupils to become fluent in Irish naturally while fostering a strong sense of cultural identity and global citizenship. The curriculum is underpinned by Catholic values and a commitment to respect, openness and mutual encouragement, creating a safe and confident atmosphere for learning. The school offers a broad range of facilities and programmes to support holistic growth. Daily hot‑lunch provision, dedicated ICT resources, and extracurricular activities such as kayaking, arts, music and cultural projects enrich the pupil experience. Special Educational Needs (SEN) support is available, ensuring inclusive provision for all learners. The school also promotes health awareness, parental involvement and a vibrant community spirit through regular events, a parents’ association and an up‑to‑date school calendar.
