History

In September 2017 two long‑standing primary schools in the parish of Mayfield, Scoil Mhuire Banríon (founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1962) and Scoil Naomh Eoin Aspal (established in 1973), amalgamated to form the co‑educational Scoil Mhuire agus Eoin. The merger revived the historic co‑educational tradition that existed at The Angel Guardian National School before 1962, continuing the strong Catholic and community‑focused legacy of both predecessor schools.
