About

Scoil Íosagáin is a co-educational Catholic primary school on Saint Mary's Road in Buncrana, County Donegal. Enrolment is 779 pupils. The school is one of the first 15 schools in Ireland recognised as a DCU Changemaker School, a network that has since grown to 28 schools. The Changemaker ethos is based on the values of empathy, creativity, teamwork and leadership. The school has special classes catering for children with autism, moderate general learning disability, multiple disabilities, and severe and profound learning disability. For the 2026/2027 school year, 74 places are available in Junior Infants, with additional places in the special classes. The school received a grant in 2021 to address the digital divide and support learners at risk of educational disadvantage, which was used to improve connectivity and digital infrastructure. The school celebrated its centenary in 2026, marking 100 years of education under the theme "From Sacred Heart to Scoil Íosagáin".

  • October Mid-Term Break: Mon 26 Oct – Fri 30 Oct 2026
  • Christmas Holidays: Wed 23 Dec 2026 – Tue 5 Jan 2027
