About

S.N. Naomh Treasa is a small national primary school situated in the coastal village of Cashel, Connemara, County Galway. With an enrolment of just 43 pupils for the 2021‑2022 academic year, the school offers a close‑knit, community‑focused environment where each child is known personally and supported holistically. The curriculum is underpinned by a MindUp ethos, placing a strong emphasis on mindfulness, emotional wellbeing and the development of intrinsic motivation alongside academic achievement. The school provides a wide range of facilities to enrich learning and play. These include a dedicated PE hall, front and rear play areas, a school garden with a “bug hotel”, a main library and in‑class library resources, as well as ample PE equipment. Extracurricular provision is extensive, featuring yoga, sean‑nós singing, drama, traditional music, Gaelic football, handball, swimming, computer coding, and opportunities for therapeutic horse riding and golf where possible. The school is recognised as a Health‑Promoting School, holds a Green Flag, and actively incorporates French informally for senior pupils, fostering a vibrant, well‑rounded educational experience.
