About

Regina Mundi College is a voluntary secondary school for girls situated in the Endsleigh area of Cork. The college delivers a comprehensive three‑stage curriculum – Junior Cycle, Transition Year and Senior Cycle – designed to nurture academic rigour while encouraging participation in a broad range of extracurricular activities. The school’s modern facilities, rebuilt in the early 1980s, provide spacious classrooms, specialist laboratories and dedicated areas for music, sport and the arts, supporting the development of both scholarly and non‑academic talents. The college’s ethos is firmly rooted in Christian values, drawing on the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church while respecting diverse traditions. Central to its mission is the cultivation of excellence, social responsibility and community service; students are encouraged to balance personal achievement with a commitment to the wider community. Partnerships between pupils, parents, staff and management underpin a supportive learning environment that prepares graduates for further education, the world of work and active citizenship. Regina Mundi enjoys a strong reputation within Cork society and is recognised among the top twenty girls’ schools in Ireland, reflecting its consistent academic performance and dedication to holistic education.

History

Regina Mundi College was founded by Margaret “Daisy” Corrigan in 1961 at Endsleigh House on Douglas Road. In 1979 the original house was demolished to make way for a new, spacious school building, which was completed in 1981 and remains the college’s present premises. The founder’s emphasis on excellence continues to shape the school’s spirit and educational philosophy.
