About
Presentation Primary School, or Scoil Náisiúnta Clochar na Toirbhirte, is a Catholic girls' primary school in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, which also takes boys in the infant classes. Enrolment is around 266 pupils across 11 mainstream classrooms, drawn from varied cultural and social backgrounds. Three special classes operate alongside these: one for children with autism and two for children with Developmental Language Delay or Speech Sound Disorder. The school sets out its aim as an education shaped by the vision of Nano Nagle, tailored to individual needs. Hot meals are provided daily. Sport and music feature in the timetable, with hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, basketball, athletics, swimming, dancing and tuition on tin whistle, recorder, violin and cello. An after-school homework club runs, and pre-school and after-school care operate on campus. The grounds sit on the Dungarvan Road at the edge of the town beside the River Suir, with gardens, all weather pitches and surrounding fields, plus a sensory garden along the main avenue. The campus is shared with Presentation Secondary School and adjoins the Presentation Convent. Since 2006 the school has taken part in Challenge to Change, a development education project run across Presentation schools.
History
