About

Murrisk National School is a small rural primary school situated at the foot of Croagh Patrick, adjacent to Millennium Park and the seashore. The school benefits from a close‑knit community spirit and small class sizes, allowing a personalised, holistic approach to education that nurtures intellectual, physical, social, cultural and spiritual development. A dedicated Parent Association supports both the school and families, reinforcing the strong community ethos. The campus includes a state‑of‑the‑art modular classroom, a specialised special‑education room, an astro‑turf area and a sensory room, providing a wide range of learning environments. Outdoor facilities feature a community playground and easy access to natural habitats for nature walks and habitat studies. On‑site services include a breakfast club run by Little Bears Preschool from 8 am and the Stay+Play after‑school programme. Hot school meals are supplied daily by the local restaurant The Tavern, offering high‑quality homemade food. The school also promotes active participation in sports, exemplified by its successful Mini 7s teams.
