History
The Irish Association of Cerebral Palsy was founded in 1951. Lady Talbot De Malahide, who had co-founded educational facilities at her home in Marino, Killiney, donated £3,000 in memory of her late husband to purchase a property in Bray. A residential school for children with cerebral palsy opened on the site in March 1956 with 13 pupils, all of whom lived in the adjoining clinic. Originally known as the Cerebral Palsy Clinic School, it was renamed Marino Clinic School in June 1976. A second school for deaf and handicapped children opened in 1977 and closed in June 1993. The name changed to Marino School in 1997. The last residential student left in 2002, and the school became a Community Special School in 2010.
