About

Dunhill National School sits about 8 miles south-west of Waterford City, in the village of Dunhill, Co. Waterford. The site looks out over the River Anne Valley, taking in lakes, ponds and the townlands of Ballyphilip and Ardnahoe. It is a Catholic co-educational primary school with an enrolment of 87, teaching classes from infants through to 6th. Sacramental preparation is part of school life, with First Penance, First Communion and Confirmation marked in the Church of the Sacred Heart. Environmental work is a continuing theme, and the school holds a Green Schools flag. Pupils take part in camogie and in athletics at local primary schools competitions, and a sponsored walk through the Anne Valley is among the fundraising activities. Whole-school art days, Aistear sessions in the infant classes and letter-writing projects appear among classroom activities. A before and after school club operates, and hot meals are provided. The motto the school gives for itself is "Mól an Óige is Tiocfaidh Sí".
