About
Dualla National School is a small, four‑teacher rural primary school serving the village of Dualla, just outside Cashel in County Tipperary. The school provides a full primary curriculum for children from Junior Infants to Sixth Class, with a strong emphasis on active learning, health and wellbeing, and community involvement. Recent initiatives such as the Active School Walkway, Daily Mile programme and the raising of both the Active Flag and the Green Flag (Energy) demonstrate a commitment to physical activity, environmental awareness and holistic development. Creative subjects are also well supported, with regular visual‑arts projects (e.g., the Spring Butterflies project for classes 4‑6) and a vibrant Irish language programme reflected in the “Seachtain na Gaeilge” celebrations. The school’s facilities have been modernised in recent years. A new purpose‑built school building was officially opened on 15 June 2012, and a dedicated sports pitch was blessed and inaugurated in June 2019, providing ample space for Gaelic games, camogie, football and outdoor play. The school also maintains a well‑equipped classroom environment, supports ICT learning, and offers extracurricular clubs such as Cumann na mBunscol, CoderDojo and Italian cooking sessions, fostering a broad and balanced education for its pupils.
History
